Cousin Party

This year the annual winter cousin birthday party happened in spring. Other years our party plans have been canceled due to bad weather so we are reluctant to plan anything in January, this year we didn't and it wound up being an incredibly mild winter and unseasonably warm. We don't have a set destination so each year we try to do something the kid's haven't experienced in a while. This year we chose roller skating.

We brought snacks and cupcakes and headed to the Columbia skate center. The kids all traded in their shoes for inline or quad skates and they hit the rink. Bridget stayed on the edge that had a chest high wall and got steadier and steadier each round. The big girls rolled right out and took turns helping Johanna, who had the aid of a wheeled walker.

They went round with their cousins and my favorite part was seeing random big cousins helping random little cousins. Every few laps a different big cousin would be helping one of the younger kids. It was a blessing to get to witness this.

We lined the birthday kids up with their cupcake sand sang Happy Birthday, before they went back out for a few more laps.

I love these kids and I wish them a very happy year of life to know, love, and serve our Lord.
