Easter 2017

Alleluia!
Happy Easter!

This Lent I made an attempt to attend the Stations of the Cross regularly. Each week different family members would come along. Johanna came most frequently. Despite talking almost non-stop through the service every single week, she followed along. Johanna matched the pictures in the book with the images on the walls as we progressed through our Lord's Passion. It made an impression and Hanna has taken to adding crucifixes to many of her drawings. One week we went to Stations as a family because the OLV High School youth group did a living stations of the cross, with Martin as the reader, Peter as Christ, Matthew as the Roman guard and Joseph singing. They did a great job and Hanna was intensely focused on them as they re-positioned with each station. It was reverent and beautifully done. Hanna was very upset when we went back to the regular version the next week.

Emma had her spring break earlier in March so she was home just for the Easter weekend. It was great to get to attend the evening Good Friday Tenebrea service with her just as we had done in prior years.

Holy Saturday we broke out the Easter decorations and got to some serious egg dyeing. Each girl took special care on her eggs. Rachael was feeling overwhelmed and was only up for depositing her eggs in a color, which we retrieved for her much later.

On Sunday morning we gathered on our bed and sang before heading into the living room. We shared a nice breakfast after baskets and then relaxed before heading to Mass. That evening we headed to my Dad's house for the annual egg hunt and dinner.

We are so blessed to be able to share in Christ's death and Resurrection.

Alleluia!
