Back to In-Person School

On April 6th Megan and Bridget woke up early and went to school, for the first time in more than a year.

BCPS established cohorts and about 1/3 chose to stay virtual, and the rest they split into cohort A which goes in person Moday and Tuesday and cohort B which is in-person Thursday and Friday with Wednesday as an asynchronous day.

Both girls were thrilled to be back in person and said that it went well. Both said they got more work done and learned more as well.  Virtual learning just didn't work well for them. They were unmotivated and struggled to keep track of anything. I have gotten more emails from teachers saying "your child is at risk of failing my class" in this past year and I don't want anymore, ever.

Megan has been cleared to wear shoes after surgery but still needs the boot for long days at school and she gets an elevator pass.

In-person days were exhausting and both come home tired. The social interactions took a lot of energy but they were glad to be back even if it was mostly still on computers. They needed the eye contact and physical cues. We are getting closer to the end of this pandemic and I am so glad to be able to see the light again.
