the Rest of May

Amidst our kitchen renovation we have continued living our busy happy life, and I didn't want to leave it out of the blog.

At the beginning of the month Rachael's 4th grade class launched rockets in the field behind school. I brought Bridge, Sarah, and Ben to watch. Rae was one of only 3 kids out of @80 that caught her rocket as the parachute descended.

We celebrated my Godson Micheal's 1st Communion.

I was treated to a loving Mother's Day, and spent the afternoon happily covered in dirt and mulch. I love that feel and smell.

We all drove up to PA to visit the Hess Family.

Emma went with the CMS orchestra to Hershey Park for a morning competition and an afternoon of roller coasters. The orchestra won 1st place. She then played the cello in the Spring concert doing 7 arrangements. They were pretty impressive.

I went to school for Megan's field day. It was a completely rainy day so we were inside. Megan was so excited to see me when her 1st grade class came to my hula hoop station.

We have made full use of the kitchen cabinet cardboard boxes. The big girls made a Harry Potter Hogwarts creation that takes up the whole front porch. The extra boxes were turned into huge canvases for the little kids to paint. Bridget even painted a super bunny, clouds, rain, sunshine, flowers. It was quite elaborate.

We ended the month celebrating the outpouring of grace on Little John at his baptism, where Jim and I promised, as his Godparents, to help him stay on the path to everlasting life. Such a responsibility and honor.

And this morning the girls and I read grave stones, placed flags and remembered the sacrifice of others.
