Moana Birthday party for the Cousins

October 15, 2017

In October we hosted the birthday party for the the kids in our family born in the Fall. This included Lilian, Benjamin, Johanna, and Ellie. The Disney movie Moana had been a big hit so we used that as the inspiration and did a Moana Tropical Island Theme. Johanna had been sitting in my lap while I was fliping through Pinterest for ideas and loved a picture of a cake that we saw. Luckily it looked great but was also simple and within my skill level and time constraint.

The whole family pitched in and had fun blowing up balloons, cutting out tropical leaves, making paper plate flowers, making a Kakamora pinata (tiny warrior in coconut armor from the movie), Making a boat, and a drawing of Maui. Anthony joined us for the party and it was so good to see him, he helped with the boat. And since he had never seen the movie, the kids watched that while Jim and I worked on getting the food ready.

Everyone arrived and we ate, and the kids played pin the heart on Te Fiti. It was a gorgeous day out so the kids were out in the yard a lot. We sang Happy birthday and the cousins opened gifts. It was a fun party and celebration of the lives of these cousins.
