Kehrmiterranean Day 7: to the SHIP

We got an early start on Wednesday. Our transfers were picking us up from the B&B apartment: Mom Dad and Bill at 8:00 and the Marylanders at 8:30. We all packed up, double checked our rooms, and paused to savor it a little more. I had arranged and confirmed an early check out with our host but he never showed. Finally at 9:00 we had to get off of pause, our van was waiting for us and we had a ship to catch. It was a little unnerving leaving with out settling our laundry fees or delivering the keys but we had to go.

Off we went back to the airport. Both parties met back up at the airport and we checked in with Norwegian cruise line. We waited for a little while and at the last minute the girls decided they needed to use the bathroom. Rachael and Bridget went together and then Emma decided it was a good idea as well. Everyone else got on the bus and I was still at the meeting point with Hanna waiting for the girls. Rachael had found a purse in the bathroom and delivered it to the lost and found. Security made her stay and file forms. She was very uncomfortable, there were language struggles and she knew that we had to get on the bus. She did the right thing and it worked out but not without a good dose of anxiety. We got on the bus just in time.

The bus ride helped everyone relax and then get excited again. Bill sat with 3 of the girls in facing seats and they played cards on the table. We arrived at the port and we were awed at the size of the Norwegian Epic. We off-loaded and then went through the boarding process. It was fun to explore our staterooms, with all of it's nooks and compartments. We had a safety training and I got the kids all signed up for the youth activities/clubs. We squeezed in a little time at the pool and then we headed off to dinner. Mom made dinner reservations for the family at Tapenaki Grill.

Dinner was so much fun. It was a beautiful restaurant with pretty ombre glasses and we dove into our soup and our ginger dressing salad. This was perfect, and it kept Hanna engaged. Our chef sang and did tricks with spatulas and each stage of food. Rachael sat in between PawPaw and Grandma Kate and told Grandma about the necropolis. Bill and Megan were on the other side and talked about school. The food was delicious and it was a lot of fun. Hanna ate her chicken tenders with chop sticks, but agreed to trade them in for her spoon to eat her ice cream.

When we got back to our rooms, the beds were turned down and the bunk was pulled down from the ceiling. We went out on the decks and enjoyed the sunset over the Mediterranean. It took us a long time to get settled and situated but we all slept well. Ready to embark on our next adventure.
