Frozen Fractals

All Around

This has been a winter with regular snow-producing systems: one after the other, polar vortexes, ice, snow accumulation, school closings and delays. None of the storms have been particularity notable but there have been plenty of storms. We have had the chance to shovel and sled and build snowmen. As I type we are expecting another 6-10 inches and school is most likely going to be canceled again.

At the same time Disney movie Frozen has dominated the box office for weeks on end, even coming out with a sing-a-long release. My girls were late to the Frozen party, but joined the fan club with gusto after seeing the movie for Bridget's birthday. The girls had a snow day on the Monday following seeing the movie and spent it memorizing the soundtrack. I have to agree that the soundtrack is pretty fantastic and the movie was really good. Then for Megan's birthday she got the CD of the soundtrack, then each girl downloaded the songs to their devices and the music infiltrated our house. "Let it Go (Snow)" and "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?" have been a fitting soundtrack to our lives.

With snow outside and Frozen music inside it has been a winter to remember.
Happily Johanna loves the snow, loves her snow boots, loves to go outside.

 The snow has also given them opportunity to recreate Olaf - a happy snowman.
